RULES

ART. 1 - ANNOUNCEMENT OF COMPETITION
The Competition is open to young musicians of both sexes and of any nationality, born after the 1st January 1995.

ART. 2 - CATEGORIES
There are 4 categories:
Cat. A - 4-hands organ
Cat. B - strings and organ (violin and organ, viola and organ, cello and organ)
Cat. C - woodwinds and organ (flute and organ, oboe and organ, saxophone and organ)
Cat D - brass and organ (horn and organ, trumpet and organ, trombone and organ)

It is possible to register for more than one category.

ART. 3 - APPLICATIONS FOR REGISTRATIONS
The application form is available on the website of the Academy www.accademiaorganisticaudinese.org and must be completed, signed by each formation and sent to the following e-mail address This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. before the 25th February 2024 together with:
- copy of the candidates’ ID cards;
- curriculum vitae of the duet’s components;
- program of each round;
- pdf document of the pieces chosen for each round.

Applications will be accepted in chronological order of arrival in the maximum number of 10 per category. Applications not meeting the above requirements or received after the deadline will not be accepted.
The secretary may, in its opinions, cancel the competition for a category if a small number of competitors are registered. In the event that the applications received for a category are lower than the maximum indicated in the call, the possibility of compensation with the categories that have received the most requests is provided for.
Candidates admitted to the competition will be notified by the 3rd March 2024 and may regularize their registration paying the registration fee by the 10th March 2024, then sending the receipt of payment by e-mail This email address is being protected from spambots. ART. 4- ENROLLMENT FEES
The registration fee of € 80 per duet, non-refundable, can be paid by a member of the
duet by Bank transfer to the following account holder:

Reason: indicate Organ Competition, Category, names and surnames of the duets components.

ART. 5 - ARTICULATION OF THE COMPETITION
The competition will consist of a preliminary round and a final round for each category.
A maximum of 5 formations will be admitted to the final of each category.
All competition rounds are public.
Candidates will have the opportunity to rehearsal on the instrument according to a specific calendar that will be sent by email to each candidate.
External teachers and/or assistants for the organ stops are not allowed to be present at rehearsals and performances. The Secretary will provide an assistant to the organ stops for all candidates, who request it.
The results of the preliminary rounds will be communicated at the end of the respective rounds.
The winners of the 4 categories will hold a concert on Sunday 17th March 2024 at 16.30 pm at the Tricesimo Cathedral. During the concert the Prizes will be given to the winners and an Attendance Certification to all the participants.

ART. 6 - COSTS FOR CANDIDATES
Travel and accommodation costs are to be borne by the competitors.

ART. 7 - PRIZES
For each category there will be:
- First Prize of € 1.500,00
- Second Prize of € 800,00
- Third Prize of € 400,00
The prizes will be awarded by adding up the scores achieved in the preliminary and final rounds.
10 All participants will receive a certificate of participation.
The winners of the First Prizes in all categories will be invited to perform at the XVI International Friulian Organ Festival “G.B. Candotti” 2024/25 and in the 2025 concert season S. Maria Assunta in Bibione (VE).

ART. 8 - EXECUTION PROGRAM
Organist competitors will have 2 instruments at their disposal:
- the renewed Zanin organ with 3 manuals with electric console (with the second Manual connected to the positive organ in cornu epistolae);
- the positive organ in cornu epistolae (new Italian Baroque organ with short keyboard and short pedalboard with mechanical transmission).
It is also possible to use both organs within a single round.

Rounds:
- Preliminary round
free choice program for the maximum execution time of 20 minutes that includes at least one original piece (*)
- Final round
free choice program for the maximum execution time of 20 minutes

(*) The original piece must not be a transcription, nor an arrangement, nor a piece with continuo ccompaniment

In evaluating the performances, the jury will also take into account the program presented. Executions that exceed the maximum durations indicated for the individual rounds may be interrupted by the jury.

ART. 9 - JURY
The jury will be composed of:

Harpsicord Professor at the Zagreb Music Academy
Giampietro Rosato
Organ Professor at the “Jacopo Tomadini” Conservatory in Udine

Competition Coordinator: M° Beppino Delle Vedove

The members of the jury cannot admit to the competition relatives or similar, nor students with whom they have public and/or private teaching relations from 1* January 2024; upon establishment of the jury, every member will sign a statement to this respect.
The jury reserves the right not to award the prizes in case of failure to reach an adequate artistic and musical level.

ART. 10
Jury’s judgement is final and unappealable. The judgement of each individual round is expressed in arithmetic score as the sum of the votes cast by the individual commissioners. For the evaluation criteria and procedures, the Jury will draw up specific Regulations at the beginning of the competition.

ART. 11
Instrument rehearsal times for each individual round of the Competition will be displayed on the website of the Academy  www.accademiaorganisticaudinese.org) by the 3rd March 2024.
Personal data and any other element learnt by the Association “Accademia Organistica Udinese” are subject to confidentiality and processed in respect of personal rights. The provision of data is mandatory for participation in the Competition. Pursuant to art.
13 of Legislative Decree 196/2003, the personal data provided at the time of registration will be kept and processed by the Ass. Accademia Organistica Udinese and used exclusively to send communications regarding participation in the Competition and informative material of the Association. The data will be processed exclusively by any managers and/or appointees.
The communication and dissemination of data may only take place for the purposes indicated.

ART. 12 - ACCEPTANCE OF THE RULES
The “Accademia Organistica Udinese” Association, organizer of the competition, decline responsibilities for any eventual risk or damage, of every kind, to people and things, during all the competition and even during the travel or during the permanence.
Registration to the competition implies unconditional acceptance of the rules herein.
In the event of contestations, the Italian text will be legally binding.

ART. 13
In the eventuality of radio or TV recording/broadcasts, the candidates waive the right of remuneration from them. During the competition performances no unauthorized recordings are allowed.
